Apply for a temporary library card online here (you'll need to come in to a library with an ID showing your current address within 30 days of registering online), or come in to your local branch and fill out an application. For Maryland residents, the card is free. Nonresidents pay $15.00 per year. Identification is required to verify current address. A parent or legal guardian must sign for applicants under the age of 16. A child must be present to receive a card.

Library cards may be used at any public library in Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s counties as well as throughout the state of Maryland.
