How do I see what books are available for kindle download

I'd like to browse the on-line catalog for books available to download to Kindle. How do I do that? Thank you.

Answer

You can browse the eBooks available for check out to the Kindle using the Maryland Digital e-Library Consortium. Login first using your library card and then do an Advanced Search, using "Kindle Book" as the format. This will give you a list of all eBooks owned by the Consortium in Kindle format. To find just eBooks that are available for immediate checkout, choose the "Available Now" tab at the top of your search results.
